Seven Areas – One Principle
Communities lead, and we support.
We mobilize communities and volunteers to protect and restore the environment: tree planting, environmental restoration, community clean-ups, climate education, youth climate leadership, environmental advocacy, and community resilience initiatives. In action: AGVO and AJ Foundation's joint tree-planting campaign across Agorvega, Atsikpey, Agorve, and Tsiyinu in the Volta Region.
We support young people to build skills, leadership experience, networks, and opportunities for meaningful participation: leadership development, digital skills, career readiness, mentorship, volunteer experience, and entrepreneurship.
We support community-led initiatives that promote participation, dignity, opportunity, and social inclusion: local development priorities, education support, community engagement, and women and youth participation.
We create pathways for people to contribute their time, skills, knowledge, experience, and networks: community service, professional and virtual volunteering, campaigns, training and mentorship, and organizational support.
We support grassroots and civil society organizations to build the capacity to deliver sustainable results: leadership and governance, project development, partnership development, and monitoring, evaluation, and learning.
We promote the meaningful participation and leadership of persons with disabilities: skills development, leadership, advocacy, digital inclusion, community participation, and equal access to opportunities.
We support communities to strengthen awareness, inclusion, resilience, and access to appropriate support, with particular attention to the needs of vulnerable groups and community participation in identifying and addressing protection challenges. In action: a mental well-being initiative for boys delivered with AGVO member organization Boy Child Supportive Foundation.
Whether you have an hour, a skill, or a partnership to offer, there is a place for you at AGVO
AGVO believes communities are not passive recipients of development. They are partners, leaders, and problem-solvers.
